Sarah Palin's got a hunting bow

The holidays are fast approaching, and it’s never too early to start shopping for that someone special in your life. Lucky for you, we’ve got the perfect gift for the “Joe Six-Pack”/”Hockey Mom” set: A “Sarah-Cuda” hunting bow from Lakota Industries.

“Aw, say it ain’t so, Joe!”

Unfortunately—and as much as we’d all like it to be—this is not a hoax. The Ohio-based company created a custom-designed, pink camouflage hunting bow (dubbed, the Sarah-Cuda), in honor of VP candidate Sarah Palin. The handy-dandy hunting bow weighs a mere 3.4 pounds (ideal for gals of dainty proportions), and sells for $590.

From Lakota’s website:

The bow is more than just a beautiful piece of archery equipment: the Sarah-Cuda is a tribute to women everywhere who embrace the art of archery and bow hunting. Women who face the challenges of adversity and demonstrate the courage and strength to survive in today’s world, yet have the caring heart and tenderness of good wives, mothers, sisters and daughters.

Yes, the bow is perfect for honoring those lovely, tender-hearted ladies in your life who enjoy the thrill of gunning down wolves from airplanes! (OK, so technically Palin advocates using air rifles for this gory practice. And if you bring back the paws, you get a special prize!).

To be fair, the company did say that it will donate 10 percent of the bow’s sales to the National Association for Down Syndrome (the one redeeming quality about the Sarah-Cuda).

As if the threat of banning library books and filling our kids’ heads with creationism weren’t scary enough. Now the neighborhood hockey moms may soon be packing heat!
