7/7/07 Concert to be Über-Convenient for Plenty Staffers

Al Gore’s 7/7/07 Live Earth concerts may still be three months away, but we’re already nosing around the website, looking for clues as to what the shows will be like. Luckily, the organizers keep parceling out interesting nuggets of information to keep us coming back.

Yesterday, for example, we learned that the U.S. concert will take place in our very own New York City. (Which means that we here at Plenty can hop on the appropriately eco-friendly subway to attend).

Another recent announcement was the concert lineup:

For New York:

AFI

Akon

Alicia Keys

Bon Jovi

Dave Matthews Band

Fall Out Boy

John Mayer

Kanye West

Kelly Clarkson

KT Tunstall

Ludacris

Melissa Etheridge

Rihanna

Roger Waters

Smashing Pumpkins

The Police

For London:

Beastie Boys

Black Eyed Peas

Bloc Party

Corinne Bailey Rae

Damien Rice

David Gray

Duran Duran

Foo Fighters

Genesis

James Blunt

John Legend

Keane

Madonna

Paolo Nutini

Razorlight

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Snow Patrol

We can’t help but notice that a number of American musicians will be hopping the pond for the London show. But you know what? We’re okay with that. You can have all the Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers you want, U.K. We’ll take Sting, thanks.

Tickets go on sale April 16th.

Comments

The concert will be at Giants Stadium. The subway does not go there. So much for environmentally friendly.
