See Sea Change

Thanks to the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center’s Scientific Visualization Studio, it’s now possible for anyone to check on the temperature of the world’s oceans on a regular basis. A new website, which is updated daily during hurricane season, shows maps and animated sequences that reflect the most recent changes in ocean temperature, useful tool for hurricane prediction and tracking. We like the section that shows monthly temperature maps—it’s interesting to watch the Gulf of Mexico get warmer and warmer during hurricane season.
