Mexico Doubts It

The latest twist in the border fence saga: Even though the U.S. approved the plan to build a fence along our southern border last week, Mexico doesn’t think it will happen. Yesterday, in a article, Ruben Aguilar, a spokesperson for Mexican president Vicente Fox, questioned the U.S.’s ability to finance such a costly project. Our favorite of his comically frank quotes: "There is no money to build it, so it won't be built." He also called the fence “useless and unworkable.”

Useless, unworkable, expensive, environmentally traumatic, antisocial…the list goes on…
