A Shoe In

The Swiss Army Knife and Watch have pretty much been the standard bearer for cool for years, but now Wegner, the company behind the Swiss icons, has one upped itself with something even more design-forward—est. Brands eco footwear. Never heard of them? You will. The recently launched company just put out its inaugural line, divided into two collections of high-performance, stylish shoes (we love the low-cut Vitznau), all manufactured within a 100-mile radius of the company’s headquarters to eliminate excessive gas consumption and air pollution. From start to finish, raw materials to finished product, est. Brands creates its shoes to carry the smallest carbon footprint possible—even the boxes are made from recycled materials. Available in August from Zappos.com.
