Moore For Your Money

Making home improvements can be, well, as exciting as watching paint dry. But Benjamin Moore’s new line of environmentally friendly paints just may cause greenies everywhere to bring out their brushes. Regular paints contain VOCs that off-gas for days or even weeks, causing indoor (and in turn, outdoor) air pollution. But Benjamin Moore’s Aura paints have just 50 grams of VOCs per liter, resulting in less pollution and fewer noxious fumes than conventional formulas. As an added bonus, the paint is 100 percent acrylic and easy to apply, with a waterborne colorant system. Aura is the residential counterpart to Benjamin Moore’s other line of environmentally friendly paints, Eco Spec, which is geared toward commercial use and contains fewer than 10 grams of VOCs per liter. Fume-free paints that look great too—now that makes for one home sweet home.
