Transformer Lamps

Recycled packaging is, like, so last year. More of-the-moment: packaging that turns into the product itself, transformer style. This new lamp from San Francisco ecodesign company Knoend comes encased in a polypropylene sheaf that, once you’ve brought it home from the store, bends and clicks into place to double as the lamp’s shade. That means the only thing you throw away after you’ve set up your new lamp is a teeny tiny paper label. Nifty, right? Every material in the lamp is non-toxic, and either biodegradable or recyclable, and it comes with is an energy-saving CFL, of course.
