Site We Love: SANS

For Alessandro DeVito and Lika Volkova, the Brooklyn-based designers behind futuristic fashion label SANS, the ozone layer is the limit when it comes to creating sustainable clothing. The Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation winners, who set up shop in December of 2005 and produced their first collection the following February, recently launched shop.s-a-n-s.com, an online showroom where "geographically challenged" customers can purchase the items SANS either couldn't finish in time for the seasonal fashion rush or that didn't fit into existing collections--or both (see the super-fun but decidedly un-wearable shiny pug). Plus, the expanded e-market allows SANS to individually high light their incredibly design-friendly products that also push the envelope on sustainable innovation. Because let’s face it, funky yarn-woven soy socks and 60% bamboo "smile” shirts are way more exciting than another organic cotton top.
