Kimono classic

2846

Handcrafted from Japanese textiles woven from the early 20th century on, KimonoMomo's line of silky scarves make wearing a piece of history a luxurious affair. Oregon-based designer Carol Ziogas transforms vintage and deadstock kimonos into elegant accessories, using no virgin materials whatsoever. "When I take a kimono apart, I think about the hands that made it, from weaver to dyer and the person who sewed it," says Ziogas. "Fabrics with a history are far more interesting to me than new fabrics." Indeed, with their delicately hand-painted designs, the scarves reveal both a classic attention to detail and a timeless beauty.
