Hello, Brooklyn

1565

Brooklyn Industries was born when Vahap Avsar found a vinyl billboard in a dumpster and turned the scraps into a set of messenger bags. Ten years later, the Williamsburg-based clothing and accessories company has started playing with another breed of eco-innovative material: Ingeo, a renewable fiber spun from fermented corn sugars. Proudly displaying the Brooklyn Industries logo, the new Skyline Green Edition shirt is among the first luxury tees to feature this low-impact fabric. Since it's partially sourced from GMO corn, Ingeo isn't a 100 percent planet-friendly product, but it's biodegradable, compostable, and—maybe most essential for Brooklynites in the sweltering summer months ahead—moisture-wicking and guaranteed to offer low odor-retention.
