These days, it seems like enviro-lite businesses will do anything to spin themselves green in the media. But, when the spectacle-making company is actually, well, an eco spectacle company, we’re glad to see them succeed. ICU Eyewear’s new greenwear collection, which includes regular and sun-readers made of 100-percent reclaimed materials, has been flying off Whole Foods’ shelves since it hit early last month. The specs come in two uber-stylish shapes and five cool colors like red, blue and green for girls and black and brown for dudes. And while the company is mostly focusing on green accessories and cases for 2008, eventually ICU hopes to take the majority of their business green. After all, when it comes to looking on the eco-bright side, green readers are the new rose-colored glasses.
