Too Little, Too Late?

China has announced measures to protect water species in the Yangtze River, a move that comes just weeks after scientists declared the Yangtze River dolphin functionally extinct.

The measures include the use of new technologies, asking fishermen to move on to other places, artificial breeding programs, and "research on rebuilding heavily polluted water areas."

Let's hope these efforts work before any more species are lost.
