2008 Declared 'Year of the Frog'

Hoping to prevent global amphibian extinctions, several conservation groups have teamed up to declare 2008 the "Year of the Frog." The effort, coordinated by Amphibian Ark, will feature public-awareness and fund-raising campaigns hoping to stave off the extinction crisis that threatens one-third to half of the world's amphibian species.
