Nepal's Elephants Face TB Threat

When a species' population gets too small, disease can be devastating. Take Nepal's Asian elephants, for example, where a tuberculosis scare threatens the country's already endangered population. According to the WWF, 25 are suspected as having TB; six elephants have been quarantined as "high risk" cases. There are just 170 Asian elephants in captivity in Nepal, with another 150 or so in the wild.
