U.N. "3 extinctions an hour"

Just how many species are we losing? In truth, it's almost impossible to say, since science has only truly identified a fraction of the species on the planet. But a new U.N. report says we are losing 3 species every hour -- between 18,000 and 55,000 species every year. Of course, that number includes all of the species we've never "met" in areas where habitat is being quickly destroyed.
