100 endangered Arabian oryx released into Abu Dhabi wilds

The Arabian oryx has been extinct in the wild for 40 years, but this week's release of 98 captive-bred oryx could be the first step in reversing that situation.

A total of 500 Arabian oryx will be released into the desert of the United Arab Emirates over the next few years. The species was declared extinct in the wild in 1972.
