Vietnamese pot-bellied pig could go belly-up

Up until a few years ago, the Vietnamese pot-bellied pig was believed to be extinct in its home country. Then, a small population was found alive in a tiny, remote village. But a decade later, the fate of the pot-bellied pig still seems bleak, as farmers don't want to bother raising the species, whose meat fetches low prices at market. The rediscovered population has dwindled to 30 females and four males.
