The Gilbert potoroo -- one of the world's most endangered marsupials


Does one of the world's most endangered marsupials have a future? If conservationists have anything to say about it, then yes. By moving a breeding pair of Gilbert potoroos to a remote island off the coast of Australia, the Department of Conservation and Land Management has successfully kick-started efforts to increase the number of the species. Okay, so the increase to date is one wild-born critter, but a start is a start, right?
