Species lose ESA protection -- but not for a good reason


Three species in Hawaii have been dropped from an "at-risk" list maintained under the Endangered Species Act. Sometimes, this happens when a species sees a population rebound. Not this time. This time, the species fell off the list because the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service "lacked sufficient information to keep them there."
