Malaysian leatherback population gone

The United Nations Environment Programme reports that the endangered leatherback turtle is "effectively extinct" in Malaysia. Though the leatherback faces threats on many fronts, the Malaysian population lost much of its habitat and breeding ground following the 2004 tsunami.
