16 bird species on rebound from extinction

A new study shows that 16 bird species which lived on the verge of extinction just a decade ago have made significant improvements in their population size. Most of these 16 species "had populations of less than 100 in 1994," according to The Indepedent.

Of course, this good news comes from the massive study we have blogged about in the past, which shows that 45% of the world's threatened bird species are in decline.

So, not as much of a success story after all, huh?
